Lesson Times
Please aim to arrive a few minutes early so your lesson can begin on time. Our piano teachers follow tightly scheduled timetables and are generally unable to extend lessons that begin late. Many of our studios have waiting areas where parents or guardians may sit during the session.
Piano Tuition & Payments
Tuition for piano lessons is billed in advance. After your initial trial session (billed as a single lesson), ongoing tuition is invoiced by the school term for most students. We also offer monthly billing for adult students undertaking ongoing lessons.
We accept payment via credit card or bank transfer. Cash is not accepted at our studios, except where small reimbursements are required for teacher-purchased materials. All tuition fees are non-refundable.
Invoices unpaid after 14 days may incur a $10 late fee. In addition, a monthly account keeping fee of $3.50 will apply to invoices that remain unpaid after 30 days.
Mid-term enrolments are welcome where the teacher has availability in their schedule. Fees in this case will be adjusted according to the number of remaining lessons in the term.
Cancellations & Missed Lessons
To reschedule or cancel a lesson, a minimum of 24 hours’ notice is required. Lessons cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice will be forfeited. In exceptional circumstances, your teacher may offer flexibility at their discretion.
Each student is eligible for one make-up credit per term, provided a minimum of 24 hours notice is given. Make-up lessons depend on teacher availability and must be used within 8 weeks. If a suitable time cannot be found, the lesson credit is forfeited.
When enrolling by the term, you are reserving a recurring weekly time. If you anticipate frequent changes to your schedule, casual lessons may be more suitable option. Casual lessons are available for adults only at an additional $5.50 per lesson.
Should your teacher need to cancel a lesson, you will be offered a make-up session, credit, or refund.
Illness
If you or your child are unwell, please notify your teacher as early as possible. We ask that children who are visibly unwell or contagious are not brought to lessons out of respect for the teacher and other students at the studio.
Lesson Observation
Parents/guardians are welcome to attend the first lesson to support younger students during the introductory stage. To promote focus and independence, we ask that subsequent lessons be attended by the student only, unless specifically arranged with your teacher.
Books & Materials
Teachers will recommend music books and resources appropriate to each student’s level and interests. These can be purchased through your local music store or online. Students should also bring a notebook to every lesson for recording practice notes and instructions.
Holiday Lessons
Some of our teachers offer lessons during school holidays. These are optional for students enrolled during the term and can be arranged directly with your teacher.

You’ll receive your teacher’s contact details for matters such as rescheduling a lesson. However, if you need to discuss billing, ongoing scheduling, or withdrawing from lessons, please contact the AAP office.
